Expert Japanese Tutor
With a 2.1 degree in Japanese Language and Contemporary Society from Oxford Brookes University, I bring a wealth of knowledge to my lessons. Course Information
I teach both adults and children from all over the world. The only stipulation I have is that if a student is a child that they be aged 11 or older. For my international students, please bear in mind all availability is in UK time so you will need to convert it into your time zone when booking.
Technical Requirements
The classroom is best accessed from a desktop or laptop using the latest version of a chrome browser. I do have students that have accessed the classroom on a tablet and it has worked fine but a desktop or laptop is recommended for optimum results concerning interactive capabilities.
Courses: Beginners Japanese
This is for students with little to no prior knowledge of Japanese and for those that cannot read Hiragana and Katakana fluently.
Courses: Holiday Ready
This is for students who are planning on going to Japan on holiday. This course is 12 weeks and covers learning Katakana and everyday Japanese needed to navigate Japan such as asking for directions, making reservations and ordering food.
Courses: JLPT 5
This is for students who can fluently read Katakana and Hiragana. We will cover JLPT5 exam material such as grammar, vocabulary and Kanji and will work on solid beginners Japanese foundations for further learning.

Personalized Approach
I believe that every student has unique learning needs and styles. I tailor my approach to ensure that my students receive personalized attention and guidance that works best for them. I have over 10 years experience in working with neurodiverse children and adults and have completed courses in working with neurodiversity and Understanding Autism. I am DBS checked to work with children and vulnerable adults.
Classroom Adaptations
I teach via an interactive platform which works well with neurodiverse students as it is a hands on approach to learning rather than a textbook approach which can be boring and unengaging. I adapt the class in real-time, if a student is struggling to focus, I will mix up the material or play a game to keep their attention. Fun is at the heart of how I want my students to feel about my lessons.
I can adapt the classroom by reducing noise, changing colours and sound effects. When we do reading exercises I can change the background colour of the text so that it can be read easier and the size of the test itself.
